Lithuanian books, published during the years 1918–1945
Lithuanian books published during the years 1918–1945 are kept in The Old and Rare Prints Department. There are fictional literature, scholar, medical, agronomy, history and social studies, law and engineering study books. The smallest part of this fund contains philosophical, political, geographical study books, as well as literature about special unpopular sciences. Even though this fund is one of the most popular funds of Kaunas County Public Library’s Old and Rare Prints Department, few of its books are digitized and reflected in electronic catalogues.
The most popular part of this fund are prints published in Kaunas (the temporary capital of Lithuania during the interwar period). Nearly everything that was published during this time period are kept in The Old and Rare Prints Department. Literature published during the years 1940–1945 that reflects major political events and war has been becoming more and more popular lately.
